Fitz roy hike, Patagonia

Not being so active here lately, but as mentioned before - too many fun things to do :) Might change now when colder/darker times come. 
Any how let us continue with pictures from Wonderful Patagonia. From El Calafate we continued our journey to El Chalten, around 3.5 hours north, to hike up to Fitz Roy, 3 405 m high. 

El Chalten is Argentine trekking capital, where the village it self is full of adventurers and back packers. Again! we were lucky with the weather as it had snowed a bit during the night but in the morning the sun was shining. Perfect for the trek that is 26km and should take about 8 h. Tough at some parts but then rewarding when getting to the viewpoint at the lake Laguna de los Tres. Magnificent. 

Enjoyed the sunny trek, and the 2 pilsner we drank at the top. Few jealousy looks ;)

On the way down we saw condors flying along the mountain sides and the Patagonian Parakit but the coolest was the Magellanic woodpecker that made an appearance with his family in the rugged South American beech forest, oh and the austral pygmy-owl with his catch. So many cool thing, I get speechless when thinking about of the views, the nature, the animal... everything

A great day that ended with some cold ones and a tasty burger.

Next stop after leaving Röros (last blog post) was Funäsdalen where we spend 4 nights to have enough time to explore the area. Did some hiking, mountain biking, fishing, trail running and so on.
We were so lucky with the weather as it only rained the last day and then also just little.
Something that I really love is fishing, and it actually went rather good. We even managed to grilled a trout in foil at the beach - as fresh as it gets. My wife finally got to taste it like that - it has apparently never happened before :))
Unfortunately I didn't carry the camera with me much. Although something that we have pics of is a bit of a secret - a lovely waterfalls (Anderssjöåfallet) that is truly worth visiting.

Lake District Weekend (Part 1/2)

Last weekend was spent in the Lake District and as I wrote in a previous post, the goal was to climb England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike with its 978m.

We started around 07:30 on Saturday morning with a group of friends, and arrived in Ambleside as the first sightseing place at 10:30.

We went for a walk in the small village that has incredibly beautiful stone houses and it is very picturesque, we also took a walk down to the lake Windermere, which is actually England's largest.

The lake is one of the most popular places for holidays since summer 1847 when the railroad Kendal and Windermere opened.

We then drove to the hostel in Eskdale that was perfectly located between mountains. To get to Eskdale we needed to cross the mountain range and we stopped at a few  waterfalls and a cave called Cathedral Quarries for some photos. After that we continued over Hardknott Pass which was really nice and curvy. The road is not wide, and it was at some places exciting to meet other cars. It was so steep in some parts that cars wheels span on the asphalt when they drove up, the first time I have seen it anyway :))

After checking in at the hostel we went on to more sightseeing, and this time to Wast water located close to where we would start the climb to Scafell Pike next day. We spend couple of hours strolling around, taking pics and just enjoing the nice weather.
