Small birds up close

Here are some photos taken from the hide i have in the woods, I have moved the perches even closer to the hide so I can take pictures and see the birds up close. Think it's a pretty nice relaxing to just sit there and try to get some good picture. The Christmas is approaching and on Monday I'm going to Stockholm to celebrate Christmas and New Year in Sweden, it will be nice to come home for a while. I'm not sure if I will be blogging anything from Sweden.

Small Birds.

Couple of weeks ago I put up a new feeding place down in Rivelin valley in a oak forest, and this morning I took the bike down to it to fill it up but also to take pics of the birds that might come by to eat. Which turned out to be good because it was full of activity there.I filled up with the nuts and seeds, and then hid myself in a hiding place that I built of some logs and fern leaves. From it it's approx 4m to an old tree where I usually throw in sunflower seeds and nuts in the holes and then I also put up sticks where birds can sit.
So far I have seen Nuthatch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit and Long-tailed Tit. I also heard a Robin and Green Woodpecker. I just hope that the Woodpecker find its way to my feeding place, but also a Jay which is one of my favorite birds.Feels good to come back with photography again after few weeks of mostly editing pictures. I've been out many times but the weather has been miserable and rainy so not pics were taken.

In the previous blog post, I wrote that I was photographing small birds the last hour after the walk as we did then.
It is always a really tough challenge to shoot small birds,  partly because they are small so u haft to be near them to fill the viewfinder.
And the second is that they are so incredibly fast in their movements, so it's hard to keep up with the camera.
This time, I had no tripod, and holding a camera equipment that weighs almost 5 kg is quite heavy after a while.
But it's still rarely I use the tripod I think it's so heavy and awkward to carry it, and so I do not have a car either if I had it I would probably use the tripod a bit more for it usually gives sharper images.
Today it snows again, I'm starting to wonder when spring comes for real, last year this time, it was large leaves on some trees already, and a lot of flowers in the woods.
Camera Equipment: Nikon 3Ds and Nikon 200-400mm f4 and Kenko 1.4 teleconverter.
I checked the weather forecast just 1.5 weeks ahead and spring does not seem to be here for a while.
